RETREATS and ACTIVITIES

Individuals or small groups are free to arrange to come to Saint Joseph’s any time for experiences of prayer and reflection, joining in the public prayer times here and at Weston Priory as you wish, and using our guest kitchen for meals, if desired.

Private Directed Retreats

- Private Directed Retreats may be arranged at a time convenient to your schedule. Retreatants usually come four to eight days, bringing your own food for breakfast and lunch in our guest kitchen. Private Spiritual Direction is available each day and an evening meal is provided. You may participate in the daily work of the retreat house if you wish, creating your own schedule and rhythm of work and prayer.

Two or three times per year we offer a month-long retreat which follows the pattern of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. We schedule these retreats in Winter, (January/February), Summer, (July/August), and Fall, (October/November). Call to arrange dates with Catherine that are convenient for your schedule.

Directed Retreat Weekends

- We offer many Directed Retreat Weekends on a variety of themes for individuals, couples and small groups of up to 10 persons. Conferences, prayer times and sharing on these weekends explore prayer, contemplation, community, challenges and strategies to living a more spiritual life in the midst of the world. The Saint Joseph Room, with comfortable sofas, fireplace, brick and honey-pine walls provides a warm atmosphere for conferences and sharing. Catherine Joanne, Spiritual Director, assisted by lay men and women with a wealth of education and life experience, present their reflections in a relaxed style with Catherine’s own musical compositions inserted throughout. You may choose one of our scheduled retreats, or call to arrange other dates for your prayer or parish group.
