Wisdom People

Enjoyed a beautiful Sunday morning yesterday with a small congregation in Southern Vermont.  We reflected on the spiritual gifts presented in 1 Corinthians 12, beginning with the gift of Wisdom.  Wisdom is a gentle comprehension of the mysteries of life, of people, of God.  It is not necessarily an intellectual grasp of spiritual truths, but an understanding of the heart.  In fact, Wisdom has sometimes been described as the fruit of the mind and the heart coming together.  It can often accompany aging, as a person accumulates life experience and begins to know in a deeper, wider, more loving way.  Have you ever had the blessing of knowing someone you would describe as truly wise?  Are there any leaders on the global stage that seem to possess this precious gift?  Have you ever found yourself tasting this deep understanding in a way that empowered you to guide or enrich others? Here’s a link to one of my musical compositions on the spiritual gifts that I used as part of our service.  Enjoy! http://www.reverbnation.com/catherinejoanne/song/22016995-we-are-one-body

full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17)
